News from our June Meeting

Jane welcomed us to the meeting – and gave special thanks to Sue for organising the refreshments for us every month.

After several years in post, Brigitta has handed over her treasurer role to Fiona. Many thanks, Brigitta, we hope you like the plant! Fiona will be our Treasurer until th

e AGM in December. Jane also announced that she would be standing down as Chair in December too. If anyone is interested in learning more about either of these roles, or joining the committee, please do come forward.

At our October we will revisit whether the roles will continue exactly as they are or whether there could be some fresh division of responsibilities. We will also discuss the 2024 programme.

In September, we will not only be having Anne Kelly as a speaker at our regular meeting, but she will also be running a workshop for us (at Champney Hall, Horton) on Sunday 10th September. Last time she ran a workshop for us it was very enjoyable, so we are hoping that lots of members wil

l be able to come along to it. The theme of the workshop is ‘A Village Coastal Scene’ which will make either a wall hanging or a sketchbook cover. Cost is likely to be £25 - £30 per person, which is extraordinarily good value! The committee will ask for people to sign up and pay in July.

Jane is expecting to be away from now until the October meeting, but feel free to contact her by email if you’d like to discuss any of the above.

Val then gave us our instructions for the next border on the frame quilt – it’s going to be triangles! More information under the Frame Quilt Challenge tab.

There was a limited ‘show and tell’ before Brigitta lead us in a fun origami bag workshop. If you missed the meeting, she shared a link to a great tutorial that can be found here:

We all enjoyed a relaxed evening, chatting over Brigitta’s project. If you'd like to join us, please do come on down on the second Monday of the month!
